The Back Story:
Sometimes it’s difficult for LVC to come up with information on
drivers we didn’t really know much about.
Not the case with the man in the always sharp looking black #48’s. John Royals out of Torrington CT was a
gentlemen’s gentleman, an easy going guy who brought his modified every week
running well, looking great, and maintained with meticulous pride. Even after getting out from behind the
wheel, John was a fixture at Lebanon, with his beautiful wife always by his
side, John roamed the infield of LV with a smile on his face and kind things
to say. John was also a big influence
on his friend John Gray, who had a #20 sportsman car painted and lettered in
John’s familiar colors, and was able to aid Mr. Gray to a popular sportsman
victory in 1995. |
